REBORN, NEWBORN OR FAKE BABY 

The descriptions Reborn, Newborn and Fake Baby are pretty much interchangeable but yet basically mean the same thing. A lot of hard work and many months and hours are needed to reborn these adorable realistic babies. Sometimes it takes as long as (9 months) to create these beautiful babies!

The reborn artist is someone who has invested a lot of money and a huge amount of skilled time and devotion in creating the perfect reborn baby. It is common for the reborn artist to develop a strong bond with their creation. The bond is more than that of an artist for a work of art that it well done, but because of the lifelike quality of the reborn baby a maternal bond also figures in the equation. The reborn artist, therefore, welcomes questions. They need to know that you, the prospective purchaser are getting exactly what you want, that you will be happy with your new reborn baby and that you will care for it appropriately. It's a bit like finding a good home for an abandoned puppy!

How to reborn 

There are two basic methods of reborning, with obviously loads of variations along the way. You may know either of these beginning choices as the first step in either reborning or newborning. It is becoming common practice to simply use the term reborn as a catch all description. In the interests of clarity this website uses the term reborn to include all creative methods. The term fake baby is sometimes used in a derogatory manner and as such is not a description welcomed by the serious and dedicated reborn artist or reborn baby collector.

 

There are two basic methods of beginning a reborn baby.

 The reborn artist buys a reborn doll kit or a reborn sculpt from a manufacturer. These are vinyl head and body parts. (arms and legs). Frequently the reborn doll kit is a limited edition, restricted to 100 or 200 issues. This adds to the rarity value, but of course each talented reborn artist finishes each reborn baby doll kit in their own individual style. Using their creative talents and introducing variations in coloring and hair style etc, to create a very individual work or art. The body is usually soft, ideal for cuddling and can be made of a variety of materials, doe skin being the most desirable. These soft bodies are either purchased, or sometimes the reborn artist will make their own. Vinyl bodies are also used. These babies are not intended for child's toys, these are a pure work of art and each baby is unique and different, all our babies are one of a kind ! A mold is made and created into the exact likeness of  a new born real life baby infant. There then follows quite a lengthy procedure many, many months of hard work to create the perfect baby for you. We have all different types of babies, with all different looks and all different ethnic backgrounds. 

Once the baby is reborn, we view it as life begins !!!
