About The Artist:
I have been a doll collector for many years and love vintage as well as contemporary dolls. I just love reborn dolls and I have a passion for creating them. I am a professional artist so for me, it is delightful that I have found a fulfilling way to combine my love of dolls with my love of painting and creating art. Each baby starts out as a blank “canvas” so to speak, and emerges as a beautiful baby and a one of a kind work of art that will be treasured for years to come.

I am so happy to introduce baby Leah. This adorable baby started out as a “Rebecca” sculpt by the gifted artist Reva Schick. The “Rebecca” sculpt is gorgeous and has exceptional detailing. It was a real pleasure to create baby Leah from it.

I have used Genesis heat set oil paint to create the amazing realism of baby Leah. The Genesis paint is perfect for painting in thin layers or glazes, and is permanent when heat set. Leah has wonderful flesh tones as well as gentle blushing, mottling, and texturing which simulate the uneven appearance of a baby’s skin. I have painted subtle veins on her head, arms and legs. I have a hard time showing them in the photos, but they look very real.

Leah’s skin has been softly painted with many layers so that it appears natural. I used several skin tone shades to achieve her realistic skin color. I mix my own paint so that each doll I create will always has a different look. Gentle blushing and shading is painted all over each limb and the head to bring out all of the excellent detail on this baby. She has the cutest wrinkles and creases.

Leah looks so adorable in her lovely Will’Beth outfit. Leah is a wonderful baby to hold and cuddle, and she is would be a wonderful addition to any collection that you are starting or already have.

Leah has 3/4” arms and full legs in detailed soft vinyl, and custom-made jointed flannel body (hand sewn in Germany). It has been filled with soft fiberfil and weighted with tiny glass beads that are sealed in small pouches. Her head and limbs have also been weighted. Leah’s head and limbs flop when she is held. She has the feel of a real baby.

Leah is ready for spring in her new dress. It is has lovely lavender accents and is so delicate and pretty. It has matching panties. She is ready for Easter or any dress up event.

Leah has carefully rooted eyelashes the same color as her hair. She looks just like a sleeping baby. Leah is so precious.

I have softly painted her brows. I do this with several layers using tiny strokes of mixed colors. I have added a little of a 3D look using Genesis thick medium. This simulates the look of tiny little hairs in her eyebrows.

Leah has cute full legs, and she can wear onesies and panties to show them off.

Leah’s hair color is what I call dark blonde or light golden brown. It came from premium angora mohair that is just beautiful. I mixed two shades of color so that her hair has some natural shade variations and highlights. It has a slight wave and styles so nicely. It is so soft and natural looking.

Leah’s hair was micro rooted using very fine needles that root only 1 or 2 hairs at a time. The natural pattern of hair growth is followed giving the scalp a realistic look. Wispy hairs have been hand painted around her face to simulate the fine hairs around a baby’s face and add extra realism. Leah’s hair was sealed with a strong waterproof adhesive, which will allow it to be gently styled by her new mommy. Her hair looks so cute dampened or dry.

Leah’s nose has been gently opened and backed with dark felt for depth. Her fingers and toes have been detailed for a realistic just clipped look, and then sealed for protection. Her lips have been given a slightly moist look, but not over glossed.

Leah is just beautiful in her Will’Beth outfit. It is so delicate with it’s open work, lace and soft pastel embroidery. I just want to hold her every time I see her.

Leah has the sweetest expression, and looks so peaceful in her sleep. You won’t be able to resist picking her up for a cuddle.

Leah's body poses so well. Her hands and feet are beautifully sculpted and look so real. Lots of baby wrinkles. She wears size newborn and 0-3 months. Clothes sizes vary by brand. You will have so much fun buying her darling baby outfits.
